MS Hero: Chris Jones

As you know the MS Trust is a charity that is very close to our hearts. We simply could not function without them; they provide information for anyone affected by MS, education programmes for health professionals, funding for practical research and campaigning for specialist MS services. Through this the MS Trust enable MSers to live their lives to the full.

Please listen out for their Radio 4 Appeal this Sunday (20th May 2012). This will be a personal appeal from Chris Jones, one of the founders of the MS Trust and a one of my MS heroes. Chris will talk about her own diagnosis of MS over 30 years ago and about wanting better support and information for people with MS now.

The MS Trust are hoping to raise over £15,000 from this appeal to help fund their Information Service, which is available free for anyone with a question about MS. It is not very often that the MS Trust has the chance to broadcast to the nation, so being selected for a Radio 4 appeal means a great deal to them. Not only will this bring in much-needed donations, it also means that they can reach out to more people with MS and let them know about the support they can offer.

You can hear Chris's appeal on BBC Radio 4 (92 – 95 FM) on Sunday 20th May at 07:55 and 21:26 or the following Thursday at 15:27. We will post links to the broadcast on this blog where you can listen to the appeal or read a transcript online.

You can still donate to the MS Trust via Katie's and Roisin's London Marathon JustGiving page.
